Manager, Quality Assurance - REQ 711 at Mitsubishi


Mitsubishi Electric Trane HVAC US LLC is looking for a Manager, Quality Assurance in Suwanee, GA.

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Quality Assurance Manager oversees the day-to-day activities of the quality assurance team focusing on identifying quality issues for products in-market, defining countermeasures, and managing correction of quality issues in a timely fashion. The QA manager also proactively maintains quality standards through routine product packaging reviews, vendor audits, and direct collaboration with overseas production QA teams.
The essential functions of the position include, but are not limited to the following:
  • Organizes and analyzes data to support identification of potential quality issues.
  • Defines, documents, deploys, and manages product quality related countermeasures.
  • Manages quality assurance related processes with a persistent focus on continuous improvement.
  • Develops and disseminates appropriate product quality related communications and reports to customers, field personnel and senior leadership.
  • Evaluates and recommends improvements to product packaging.
  • Schedules, plans, and manages routine quality assurance and technical working group meetings involving appropriate stakeholders.
  • Oversees the development and maintenance of detailed quality issue tracking reports and logs.
  • Leads process improvement, MDI activities and team huddles with a persistent focus on daily improvement.
  • Maintains a detailed accounting of all expenses and reimbursements associated with product quality issues.
  • Oversees the vendor quality audit process.
  • Compiles and submits routine reports for senior management review.
  • Manages invoicing of and receivables related to product quality related activities.
  • Liaises with overseas factory, field service, warranty, and service parts management teams with a primary focus on clearly identifying and resolving product quality issues.
  • Facilitates planning, execution, and evaluation of quality team member annual performance goals.
  • Manages quality department P&L including budgetary forecasting and monthly maintenance.
  • Manages quality assurance laboratory operations ensuring safety compliance and regulatory adherence.
  • This position requires up to 40% travel.
  • Perform other duties as assigned

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or a technical discipline preferred.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in the HVAC industry.
  • Ability to effectively manage both local and remote staff.
  • Highly enthusiastic and energetic person capable of building strong teams and cross-functional relationships.
  • Personal accountability, strong time-management skills, and exceptional organizational skills are a must.
  • Ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and an aptitude for technical concepts.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, and through formal presentations.
  • Comprehensive working knowledge of the tools included in the Microsoft Office Professional Suite.
  • Ability to translate complex thoughts and ideas and communicate them in an easy-to-understand form.
  • Ability to effectively facilitate discussions and influence without authority in a team environment.
  • Ability to work remotely and independently with little direct daily supervision.
  • Demonstrated personal accountability, strong time-management skills, and organizational ability.
  • Ability to work and lead a team without direct daily supervision in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to adapt quickly to changes in goals and objectives.

The base pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between $104,000 and $143,000/ year however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including target bonus plans and discretionary awards. Subject to the terms and conditions of the applicable plans then in effect, eligible employees may enroll in a 401(k) plan, as well as participate in Company-sponsored medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance plans for the employee and the employee’s eligible dependents. Employees will also receive 80 hours of vacation per year, 56 hours of paid sick leave annually, and 13 paid holidays throughout the calendar year, depending on hire date. Employees may also take up to 12 weeks of paid or unpaid [parental/disability/emergency/etc.] leave, if eligible.
