Sr. Software Engineer, Data Management & Governance - Apple Media Products at Apple


Apple is looking for an experienced Java engineer with hands-on experience developing highly available and scalable systems, as part of a friendly cross-geo team, towards the goal of meeting Apple’s belief that privacy and security are paramount.


Key Qualifications


  • Extensive professional software development experience building services at high scale
  • Proficiency in Java required
  • Strong ownership and track record of delivering results in a team
  • Ability to communicate with users and drive adoption, to troubleshoot and diagnose issues, and to work effectively with teams adopting our tools.
  • Experience with database and Big Data technologies (SQL, NoSQL, Spark, Hadoop, Parquet)
  • Experience with modern software engineering practices: Agile methodology, CI/CD, Git

The Data Platform organization owns internal applications and services to support and manage the complex and ever-growing data and infrastructure needs of Apple Media Products (AMP), and Apple in general. The Data Management & Governance team, part of the AMP Data Platform organization, builds mission-critical systems and internal tools that are used throughout AMP and across Apple in general, by various strategic high-impact products and services to protect users and their information by default. Your contributions will have a highly visible impact across Apple Media Products and across Apple. Education & Experience


B.S. in Computer Science/ Engineering or equivalent experience


Additional Requirements


  • Expertise in the following areas is a huge plus but not required:
    • Awareness of data privacy and compliance regulations (GDPR, CCPA/ CPRA)

    • Knowledge of security practices (applied cryptography, data encryption at rest)


Pay & Benefits


  • At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $144,500 and $250,000, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
