Senior CRM Marketer at StuDocu

Amsterdam, Netherlands

Senior CRM Marketer

Job description

StuDocu was founded on the principle that equal access to study notes reduces inequality between students. We make it easy for students to share notes. The product was a rocket ship from day one, and has shown strong product-market fit on every continent, making us a key player in the exploding EdTech space. We just received a $50 million series B investment so we’re in rapid growth and scale mode, and we need serious talent to help us make it happen.
We’ve nailed product-market fit on every continent and we have a very, very good data setup, tracking many user events across the whole funnel. We’ve built all the basic email workflows for our various acquisition funnels, and have systems in place for launching broadcast communications in 20+ languages. But all-in-all we’ve only made a light investment in CRM marketing so far. With over 20 million MAU and 100% YoY growth, we know we’re sitting on an untapped gold mine.
We need an autonomous and growth-minded CRM Marketer, with a keen commercial instinct, to mine our user database for opportunities to increase acquisition, activation, retention and referrals. The immediate focus is on auditing and cleaning our existing setup, but there are big opportunities literally everywhere we look. You’ll operate with a lot of autonomy, setting your own strategy and budgets, and reporting to the VP Growth.

What you'll be doing here:

  • You’re our first full-time CRM hire, so your first responsibility will be to audit our existing setup, create a vision for how far we can take CRM, and define the roadmap that will get us there.
  • You’ll be measured by the impact of CRM on conversion and retention rates across the funnel: warming up leads; activating and onboarding new users; keeping active users engaged; and converting top users into passionate advocates.
  • Autonomously manage the execution of day-to-day CRM activities using Customer.io: define segments, triggers and goals; build workflows; schedule newsletters; launch split tests; troubleshoot technical issues; tag and analyse communications; and report on performance.
  • Conduct user research to discover user segments and map their lifecycle journeys.
  • Test and scale highly-personalised, multi-touch workflows, keeping communications in sync across email, web-push, and in-app notifications.
  • Work with Marketing and Customer Support Teams to unify our tone of voice across all channels.
  • Write punchy copy in English and coordinate translations in multiple languages with our localisation agency.
  • Work with the Design Team to create HTML email designs.
  • Work with Data and Engineering teams to define and capture user events.
  • Keep the user database clean and GDPR compliant, with high deliverability and low unsubscribe rates.
  • Report your success, failures and learnings to the whole company.
  • Proactively upskill yourself and contribute to other people’s projects to ensure StuDocu operates with best practices in everything we do.

Why you're going to love it here:

  • Blue ocean of freedom to build your dream CRM strategy from scratch.
  • Incredibly popular product, which is very easy to market.
  • Great data stack and a team of data scientists to help push the boundaries of marketing.
  • 20+ million user base, growing 100% YoY.
  • Matrix company structure that facilitates collaborating with everybody.
  • Lots of very clever people all around you.
  • All of the perks of working at a progressive and mission-driven company (see our main jobs page for details about our work culture and values)

Requirements

  • You're located in Amsterdam, or willing to relocate (at our expense, of course).
  • 5+ years of experience in any marketing function.
  • 2+ years of experience specifically in CRM marketing, using tools such as Customer.io.
  • Proven experience planning and launching multi-channel CRM workflows.
  • A proven ability to work autonomously with little guidance.
  • Ability to write flawless, engaging and punchy copy.
  • Extremely good attention to detail and flawless project management.
  • Process and detail oriented with a logical and analytical mindset.
  • Strong data analysis skills and experience using spreadsheet and BI tools.
  • Deep knowledge of best practice for onboarding flows and lifecycle marketing, including segmentation and personalisation.
  • Some experience conducting user research.
  • Strong verbal and written communicator, with a knack for synthesising complex information into clear and concise insights.

The hiring process:
  • Submit your application.
  • 30 minute video call with the hiring manager.
  • Approximately one week to complete a ~5hr project.
  • 60 minute video call with the hiring manager and a potential teammate.
  • 60 minute video call with a CXO.
