Philips challenges you to use your engineering expertise to model, design and implement some of the world’s most innovative medical products. Your contribution can range from the definition and implementation of the high-level Cloud Architecture/SaaS of the novel Biosensing Platform to early customer contacts and concept workshops. Our mission is to develop software to measure biomarkers (vital signs and health/wellness insights) and obtain medical clearance for our deliverables. Our products are frameworks and SDKs, running locally or in the cloud, that enable Philips Businesses as well as 3rd party Licensees (B2B).

Your responsibilities

  • Designs, codes, documents, tests (automated), maintains and deploys software
  • Supports DevOps in deploying software •
  • Provides technical solutions that conform to requirements with a strong focus on end-users, high quality (QMS/regulatory standards), performance, privacy, safety and security •
  • Keeps abreast of technical knowledge by studying and implementing state-of-the-art programming techniques and development tools, participating in educational opportunities, participating in communities of practice, reading professional publications and maintaining personal networks
  • Participates in defining user experience related requirements such as user flows
  • Challenges requirements, design and quality, focused on technical leadership. Leads the creation of the software design.
  • Recognized technical expert within the team on specific areas

The team

At Philips Intellectual Property & Standards the Integrated Technology Solutions (ITS) department is unique in its SW licensing approach servicing both Philips Businesses as well as 3rd Party licensees outside Philips. You will be working in multi-disciplinary teams of highly skilled technical experts from both Philips ITS and Philips Research.

We are looking for

  • 5+yrs of back-end, preferably full-stack development
  • Hands on experience working with Java, HTML, XHTML, CSS, JavaScript, JQuery and general Web 2.0 techniques
  • Service Oriented Architecture / Web Services – SOAP / REST
  • Markup Languages like XML and JSON
  • Deep understanding of Object Oriented patterns and principles
  • Strong Data structures fundamentals
  • Experience with microservice architectures and cloud foundry
  • Experience building complex software systems that have been successfully delivered to customers
  • Experience in Software craftsmanship - best in class code quality practices
  • Experience improving web latency in complex large scale deployments
  • Knowledge of AWS technology stacks and services (S3, Glacier, Vault, RDS; IAM)
  • Knowledge on SSL, SSO, Oauth2
  • Proficient it at least one “high-level” language, such as Java, .Net, Python, etc.
  • Hands on experience NodeJs, ReactJS, AngularJS, etc (preferred)
  • Experience with PDLM and ISO13485 is desired
  • Knowledge of C/C++ is desired
  • Knowledge of Apache Airflow is a pre
  • Knowledge of time series databases is a pre
  • Knowledge of Grafana is a pre
  • Team player and strong communicator
  • Strong customer focus, excellent communication skills.
