About the Team:

This is a great opportunity for an ambitious editor or senior section editor, looking to take the next step in their career at one of the leading digital publishing companies in the world. The team you’ll be joining is young, extremely friendly, and committed to forging a thoroughly modern website to meet the needs of its audience in 2022 and beyond. This is a great time to join the team, as we’ve invested time into building a new foundation for Top Ten Reviews, and are now planning and writing exciting, forward-facing content to shape the identity of the brand.
Job Purpose:
The Editor of Top Ten Reviews oversees the entire brand and manages the team. Working with the Content Director of the Knowledge group you will plan and execute content strategies to grow TTR’s audience and revenue. You will have a young, talented team to help you achieve this, and will be responsible for developing them as well as the brand itself. In addition, you will report on, and analyse, the success of the site each week, helping you make informed decisions about how to update and evolve TTR’s strategy. You will work with other key stakeholders across Future - including the Audience, Ecommerce and Commercial teams - to manage every aspect of the site, and ensure that all content is created and optimised to the highest standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the whole TTR brand - from day to day website management, to team leading, to content planning and strategy
  • Manage a team, edit their work, and ensure all content on TTR is best in class when it goes live on the site.
  • Be the point of contact for all things TTR for all internal and external partners, and represent the brand inside and outside of Future
  • Track and report on site performance, and work alongside your Content Director to make sure the team and site is performing to the highest standards
  • Work with the Content Director and Vertical MD to focus Top Ten Reviews, and constantly evolve the brand itself, exploring new traffic and revenue opportunities
  • Work with your section editors to make sure all content is updated and current, and performing as well as it possibly can

Requirements

What do I need to succeed?

  • Experience in managing a web brand, or large section of a web brand
  • Team leadership experience, or relevant qualifications
  • Excellent knowledge of SEO and how to reach broader audiences.
  • An ability to edit and improve content across a wide variety of subject areas
  • A strong list of freelance contacts and other experts you can bring to the role
  • Experience of using data reporting tools, like GA, Data Studio, Parse.ly is preferred
  • Superb organisational skills, and the ability to communicate effectively to internal and external partners
  • Knowledge of CMS systems and web content management
