We are looking for a Personal Finance Writer to join our growing wealth team to cover money news and features for The Money Edit () and a number of lifestyle titles at Future plc.
You must have a strong interest in writing about personal finance, journalism experience and the ability to write clearly and concisely to deadlines.
This role may suit a second jobber who is looking to step into their next challenge in financial journalism.
You’ll be part of an award-winning team and help build digital wealth content at some of the UK's top brands.
This role can be based in our London or Bath offices.

Key responsibilities

  • Help build content around key subjects for personal finance and consumer affairs
  • You’ll be required to write news, features, explainers and source case studies
  • You have a good nose for news and will be required to pitch stories/content to the editor
  • You have a strong network, that allows you stay up-to-date with the latest news, trends and products
  • You should be confident to write for different types of audiences with different demographics
  • A good understanding and experience of CMS
  • Some experience and knowledge of SEO practice and how to apply it to editorial content
  • This is a role that will continue to develop over time, with growing opportunities as we continue to expand our wealth platform


What do I need to succeed?

⦁ A strong interest in and understanding of the personal and household finance sector
⦁ First-rate SEO expertise and be able to evidence growth produced from previous employment
⦁ An excellent digital content creator
⦁ Relentless approach to delivery. You’ll be totally on top of the numbers and see the early trends before anyone else
⦁ Exceptional editing skills which come from a clear understanding of the audience
⦁ You’ll have a passion for the data side of web editing and closely monitor and interpret performance and trends
⦁ A ruthless approach to success - you’ll be able to combine coming up with transformative ideas with a determined approach to ensure they are delivered
⦁ A great communicator – both with the industry and the wider Future team
