Job Purpose

An Account Director leads and manages teams, successfully counselling clients on achieving communications and business objectives. You will act as a daily client contact and manages large projects and multiple accounts simultaneously. You will have an in-depth understanding of clients’ businesses, keeping up to date with their key stakeholders and media. This person contributes to the development and leads on the execution of communications plans based on client goals. An AD should also show mastery of skills identified in AAE, AE, SAE and AM job descriptions. This role will be working on one of the biggest global Pharma companies.

Experience

Experience working in PR or similar communications marketing field, with agency experience preferred.
Demonstrated ability to effectively multitask, delegate and manage assignments in a fast-paced environment.
Experience developing and maintaining strong relationships with clients.
Record of accurate client-related finance management.
Evidence of strong media, influencer and stakeholder networks.

Skills

Superior written and verbal communications skills.
Ability to manage and inspire a team to make sound judgments.
Excellent organisational and planning skills.
Ability to think creatively and ensure a good level of creative output across the team.
Strong media relations skills and ability to ‘sell a story’ and communicate effectively with the media or influencers.
Client liaison and interface skills e.g. leading client meetings, managing day to day contact.
Ability to present ideas confidently and persuasively.
Media Relations: Mainly UK focused
Digital: There is a social media element to the work
Client Services: Strong client manager exhibiting best practice in client management. Counsel clients on communications marketing strategy and can support to drive every aspect of creating and implementing innovative communications marketing programmes. Contribute to the development of plans and oversees client campaigns
Reporting to: Account Director or Associate Director (tbc)
New Business: Mainly organic new business growth within existing retained accounts however experience winning new biz is a big bonus!
