The EIB, the European Union's bank, is seeking for its Finance Directorate (FI) - Coordination Division - Planning, Resources and Information Unit
at its headquarters in Luxembourg:


Duration: 5 months (fixed start date: 01st March 2020)

Objective of the traineeship

The objective of the Traineeship is to provide support to the Finance Directorate/Coordination Division/Planning, Resources and Information Team (FI/COOR/PRI) in its strategic communications and information coordination with FI staff and the Bank’s staff. It is expected that you will interview key correspondent staff in order to review and update the FI Intranet pages’ content; contribute to the production of news or other communication content, as well as perform general writing, editing, create procedures, proofreading and provide support for a variety of internal communication exercises.


Under the supervision of the Head of Unit and in collaboration with the Intranet assistant, you will assist in updating the content of the Finance Directorate’s Intranet pages.
Your main tasks will be to:

  • Review and update the FI intranet pages’ content;
  • Write, edit and proofread communications projects;
  • Write news and feature stories;
  • Review and revise our current practice of storing and communicating information;
  • Create procedures, guidelines and advice;
  • Special projects, as assigned.

Academic qualifications and professional skills

  • Final year of University studies or University degree in Journalism or Public Relations;
  • Excellent knowledge of standard Microsoft Office tools (Windows, MS Office, Web Browsers, Adobe);
  • Good knowledge of HTML, Drupal or other publishing tools;
  • Excellent knowledge of written and spoken English and/or French. Knowledge of other languages would be an advantage;
  • Good interviewing skills and the ability to interact well with a variety of people;
  • Strong writing and proofreading skills.
