Head of M&A at Glovo


Barcelona, Spain
We are looking for a passionate, strategic and action-oriented professional to work our Corporate Development department in our headquarters in Barcelona. As the Head of M&A you will play a key role in the Finance team leading M&A, finance and partnership opportunities. You will act and operate as a startup within a startup, providing both expert strategic thinking and leadership skills, and work directly with the CEO and CFO.

You will:


  • Lead M&A and Partnership opportunities: From sourcing of deals, analysing opportunities, deal negotiation, acquisition integration, post-closing forecasting

  • Manages acquisition processes, coordinates due diligence with external advisers and internal teams, drafts proposals and offer letters and legal documentation, negotiates transactions leading up to closing.

  • Monitors and coordinates the integration process with local management, business management and supporting functions.

  • Perform due diligence for potential investments and assisting in the preparation of investment committee memos and presentations

  • Financing: Optimize the company’s use of resources to achieve profitability. Tasks will include analyze financing for all of the acquisitions, development programs, corporate initiatives (e.g. stock buyprograms) and help in the fundraising process

  • Work with business leaders, functional leaders and FP&A, budgeting/forecasting, and longer term business plans, including development of related senior management presentations.

  • Lead a team of analysts and associates

Requirements:


  • Experience in a top investment banking, M&A boutique, VC or PE for more than 7 years.

  • Experience with on-demand marketplaces will be highly valued, either by having directly worked or advised companies in the space.

  • Ability to adapt, execute 360º and coordinate with all departments in a company.

  • Experience with M&A and Leveraged Finance

  • Itchy feet and continuous thrive on learning through different projects.

  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills and the ability to move easily between commercial, operational and product discussions.
