Our Interior Systems Product Group is looking for a Global Technologies & Standards Engineer for Door panel to be based at its Valencia Development Center.
The GTS Engineering for Door panel is responsible of defining door panel standards and Guidelines, and ensures their application on programs. Support program teams with door panel expertise.
Main responsibilities:

  • As part of door panel Network, co-define, update, and make available through KM system:

    • Standards (Standard solutions with associated KPC)

    • Generic functional analysis and generic DFMEA

    • Guidelines (best practices)

    • Design check sheets and check lists.

    • BOP, machine, equipment and tools generic specifications.

    • Generic DVP & PVT.

  • Attend door panel network meetings. Feed network worldwide database.

  • Support Design Department to define CATIA Templates / Standard Solution Database

  • Maintain door panel benchmark. Gather information of worldwide running FIS programs (as well as selected competitor product & process). Capture the specific functional properties and evaluate and document the performance of the technology versus requirements during the industrialisation phase and serial phase. Support global Marketing Benchmark teams in definition of features to access. Spread information through global door panel team network.

  • Support innovation team. Assess the level of validation for any innovation against any internal or customer specification.

  • Support Concept Engineering during Phase 1, and validate concept with regard to Standards, Best Practices and Individual Design Solutions.

  • Identify the relevant door panel standards and guidelines to be used on each program.

  • Validate the commitments on technology performance (vs specifications) made by PTE and Development Engineers. Support risk assessment.

  • Track definition robustness (against standards and state of the art) against relevant KPI.

  • Participate to PPCS procedure

  • Has authority to give Product/ process Sign Off for Tool Kick Off (based on design check sheets completion by SPDE).

  • Provide training through Engineering Academy.

  • As senior Door Panel GTS, act as trouble-shooter when complex product issues happen.

  • Participate to technical arbitration with Eng Team Leader(s), under the moderation of the PDL.

  • Master the OEM specifications, terms and documents as well as regulation/legislation by Region. Get feedfrom the regional Team members to complete and update the information database. Is able to coach other team members about it.

  • Ensure capitalization of the technology activity is integrated within Door panel standards and guidelines updates.

The ideal candidate must have/be:
  • Degree in engineering, or significant professional experience
  • Minimum 5 years of proven experience in design and development within an industrial environment, preferably on automotive interior parts
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Meets the requirements of the Engineering Profile for the function (mandatory trainings)
  • English required
  • Able to work in a multicultural environment
