About the Position:

AMD Graphics Memory Technology Team is on the lookout for a dynamic, energetic Electronic Engineer to join our growing team. As a MTS Engineer, you will be part of leading the post-silicon product characterization, validation and system debug efforts of AMD’s latest dGPUs. The work focuses around GDDR6, GDDR5, HBM and legacy memories and the characterization and qualification of Platform Solutions.

Responsibilities:

  • Drive post-silicon product bring-up, characterization, validation and system debug efforts for memory subsytem on AMD’s newest dGPUs.
  • Be responsible for engaging with various SoC teams on product requirements, tracking industry developments in areas related to Memory, Vendor Roadmaps and OEM Customer usage of AMD design
  • Create and execute validation test plans, report coverage plan and perform debug experiments
  • Develop validation strategies, pioneer hardware/software validation improvements
  • Perform system-level debug and root cause analysis to narrow down the issues to various HW/SW blocks and drive cross functional engineering efforts to root cause of sightings and verification of fixes with teams in design, diagnostics, firmware, and driver
  • Leading collaborative technical discussions to drive resolution on technical issues and roll out technical initiatives
  • Supporting issues on customer platforms as requested by customer support teams

Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer or Electrical Engineering, with advanced degree preferred
  • 7+ years of professional experience
  • Knowledge of computer hardware architecture (GPU, CPU/APU, memory and bus logic technologies) and software architecture (driver, bios, firmware usage)
  • Knowledge of discrete memory architecture and solid understanding of circuits/platform design
  • Understanding platform level signal integrity and power integrity technologies
  • Familiarity with industry-standard high-speed protocols, and test methodologies
  • Hands-on debug experience with dGPU/APU, motherboards, memory interface, bus logic a definite asset
  • Hands-on experience with laboratory equipment (i.e., oscilloscopes and logic analyzers)
  • Experience with Windows and Linux operating systems
  • Programming/software development knowledge with experience with scripting languages such as Ruby/Python/Perl
  • Critical thinking skills, be able to design experimental testing for debugging purposes
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills
  • Leadership and mentoring skills a definite asset
